Promoting residential construction

A key issue in securing our city’s future is to create a balanced apartments market for all the various groups of inhabitants.
The key guidelines of the City’s policy on apartments is therefore geared to ensuring the adequate and appropriate provision of apartments for all the different groups of inhabitants in the form of a broad and durable supply of apartments in all the sub-markets; in this way the market will do justice to the differing needs of the various segments of the population.

The consistent promotion of establishing and maintaining affordable residential properties is necessary in order to secure an adequate supply of available housing including the sector where rents and ownership receive state support.

The Municipal Residential Construction Support Agency attached to the City Planning Department provides comprehensive information and advice to developers and investors who are interested in building rental apartments that come under the promotion scheme, in modernizing existing residential properties, in ownership support from the State of Hessen and in cost subsidies from the State of Hessen to eliminate structural barriers to physically challenged persons.

The individual project development is supported from the drawing boards and evaluation of financing options through application filing and approval to disbursement of public monies and management of loans from residential construction promotion funding in line with the City of Frankfurt and the State of Hessen’s statutory guidelines on financial promotion.
