Frankfurt Program for the Construction of Affordable Rented Apartments: “Subsidy Scheme 1”
This program is designed to promote the construction of rental apartments for low-income households. Households are eligible for such apartments if they have registered with the municipal housing agency and whose income is within fixed limits. For information on the current income ceiling applicable please click here.
Funding under this program is combined with funding as per the “State of Hessen Guideline on the Promotion of Social Rental Housing”. It takes the form of interest-free loans, grants for construction costs, and one-time subsidies of rental income. The rent price cap and occupancy controls run for, optionally, 40 or 30 years. The initial net base rent is 6.50 €/m² of living space. Planning needs to heed household sizes and stipulations on the size of living space
